Alais Brightsong, King’s Bard

We headed across the desert again to head for Crestfall. We retired at the Medusa’s Head. It’s been repaired already, apparently. While we were there, we ran into a tribemate of Dante’s. He brought us the news that Dante’s father had passed; I was a little disconcerted with the barbarian’s lack of emotional response, but I suppose that’s normal for him.

Aeloces joined us the morning after we arrived. He mentions that the Avatar hasn’t been seen in 1,000 years – it raises question in my mind as to why he arises now. He also warned us to beware of undead, for the last time that the Disappearing City showed up, there was a sudden infestation of them in the surrounding towns.

On our trek through the desert, we encountered the dragon Rokuran. I will admit freely that I was overjoyed. He led us to his home – his home! – and offered us his hospitality. While speaking with him about Zevok, he seemed disturbed.

And he mentioned a “harbinger”…Harbinger. Why does that sound familiar?

Anyway, we went to the bar to meet a friend of Tolli’s. An old caretaker of hers, I think. After meeting her family, the sand stopped.

The Disappearing City has arrived.

Outside of Rokuran’s cavern, we were attacked by three white zombie minotaurs. Zestus killed he first and the last, and Dante killed the second. We then left to travel to Amentus, the capital of Kalinos. I remembered that the only way to bring the shield down around the city is in one of the temples.

I visited the library and it was beautiful. It turns out that Ptolemy had a son – Agathon. I know that name. He was…Herodes great-something grandfather. That means that Herodes is Ptolemy’s heir. We summoned my king and he accepted. Unfortunately, Ptolemy died that hour. After a talk with the nobles and the guards, we arranged a meeting for the king and the nobles of both countries. There was a grand banquet hosted by our friend Rokuran in Thylos, and so far, all is well.

Day 1 - Meeting At The Medusa's Head

We made it successfully and uneventfully to The Medusa’s Head in Crestfall. Everyone seems a little fearful of us; they keep eyeing the crest of Kirinos as if they expect us to sprout horns and attack them at any moment. I will update later.

UPDATE: We met with the emissary from Pharaoh Ptolemy. He is a Noda named Darja; I found that ironic, but only because I know what it means. It matters not; the Pharaoh trusts him, therefore must I. We made negotiations and are in agreement; both of our countries wish peace. We think there must be conspirators on both councils attempting to dethrone the young king and kill off the older one.

While were concluding our negotiations, there came a scream from outside. Minas’ familiar, Toby, alerted us to the presence of bandits, five on foot and one on horseback. We were joined by
